Innovation
More than just sustainability
We’re innovating Sustainable Eco2-lubrication

Sustainable Eco2-lubrication
Innovating Economical & Ecological Advantages
PURAGLOBE was founded upon a commitment to take the best of American ingenuity and German engineering to innovate the most advanced, sustainable base oils, motor oils, and other lubricants for our customers. But we do more than just re-engineer sustainable base oils. And we do more than just blend sustainable, premium-quality motor oils and lubricants…
We provide Sustainable Eco2-lubrication—an innovative lifecycle of services that offers economical and ecological advantages that can help our customers transform their markets.
Overall, Sustainable Eco2-lubrication is about taking a different approach to producing motor oils and lubricants. It’s a more sustainable approach and involves everything we do, from collecting used oil, to re-engineering sustainable base oils, to blending premium-quality motor oils and lubricants, and packaging and distributing them to our customers’ markets.
As the name suggests, Sustainable Eco2-lubrication offers a powerful combination of economical and ecological benefits—benefits that are good for business and the environment, including:
- sustainable collection and re-use of used motor oils and used lubricants
- re-engineering used oil into sustainable, premium quality motor oils and lubricants, from Group II through III+
- optimal re-capture and re-use of materials with our Zero-waste Processing
- mitigation of CO2 emissions
- efficient, responsive packaging and distribution services
- a comprehensive, repeatable process that enables greater sustainability and market transformation
Used Motor Oil & Lubricant Collection
In many ways, Sustainable Eco2-lubrication starts with the collection of used motor oils and lubricants. We provide efficient solutions for collecting used motor oils, used lubricants, and other precursors. This allows our customers to help extend the lifecycle of our natural oil resources—and take advantage of the economic benefits of re-capturing and re-engineering used oils as well.
Sustainable Re-engineering
Group II through III+ Sustainable Base Oils & Lubricants
After we collect used oils and lubricants, we re-engineer them into new, sustainable base oils which we then use to blend advanced, sustainable motor oils and lubricants for our customers.
Our Group II/II+ base oils help our customers develop sustainable motor oils and lubricants to meet today’s demanding applications.
PURAGLOBE is the only provider of sustainable, fully-synthetic Group III/III+ base oils re-engineered from used oils using our exclusive Honeywell UOP HyLubeSAT™ technology and other proprietary innovations.
Our sustainable base oils enable our customers to innovate premium-quality, fully-synthetic lubricants—and stay ahead of ever-changing requirements and regulations and meet increasing demands for sustainability and CO2 mitigation.
Zero-waste Processing
Sustainability matters. And a big part of sustainability involves letting nothing go to waste. That’s why we practice Zero-waste Processing. We make sure that 100% of the used oil and used lubricants we collect are re-engineered into sustainable base oils, solvents, motor oils, and lubricants. Of course, what we makes matters. And how we make it also matters when it comes to sustainability and doing things economically and ecologically. That’s why we even re-use our refining catalysts instead of letting them go to waste.
CO2 Mitigation
Along with Zero-waste Processing, we’re also doing our part to help mitigate CO2 emissions. In fact, using our exclusive HyLube™ and HyLubeSAT™ technologies, and other proprietary innovations, we’ve prevented more than 2 million tons of CO2 emissions from polluting the atmosphere, according to calculations verified by NSF and IFEU (2016, 2019).*
With every order, we calculate the amount of CO2 emissions that we’ve mitigated—and help our customers measure and demonstrate their commitment to reducing CO2 emissions as well.
* PURAGLOBE determined the carbon footprint of its collection and re-refining steps to determine the environmental impact of the process. PURAGLOBE carbon footprint calculations of the re-refining process were verified by an independent third party, NSF International. This verification was done in accordance with requirements of ISO/TS 14067:2013, Greenhouse gases – Carbon footprint of products – Requirements and guidelines for quantification and communication and ISO 14064-3:2006, Greenhouse gases – Part 3: Specification with guidance for the validation and verification of greenhouse gas assertions.
Efficient Packaging, Distribution & Logistics
Beyond re-engineering, blending, and packaging, we also help our customers efficiently deliver sustainable motor oils and lubricants to their markets as well. And with our international distribution networks, we can provide efficient, customized distribution services that best serve our clients and their markets.
The Power of Sustainable Eco2-lubrication
When customers use our comprehensive Sustainable Eco2-lubrication solutions—from collection, to re-engineering, to distribution—they can more efficiently repeat the process again and again. And perhaps more importantly, our customers can use our Sustainable Eco2-lubrication solutions to transform their markets by integrating greater sustainability, while reaping the economical and ecological benefits every time.
Other Innovations
At PURAGLOBE, we’re always thinking about big ideas and small details. We’re dedicated to big ideas like Sustainable ECO2-lubrication, but we also focus on the little things—like innovating with nano-molecules.
Graphene-enhanced Base Oils & Lubricants
For example, as part of our strategic partnership with Applied Graphene Materials UK Ltd., we’re developing sustainable base oils enhanced with graphene nano-molecules. And we’re working hard to develop sustainable, graphene-enhanced base oils, motor oils, lubricants, and machining fluids that can provide exceptional performance, and friction and wear protection—along with game-changing advantages in automotive, industrial, and fleet management applications.
